ASTEC has completed projects – in a majority of cases as the prime or lead firm - in well over 100 developing and emerging countries in the last 27 years. We would strongly suggest that it is often easier to win business in these markets  than in the more developed and competitive markets of Western Europe or North America.

The funds available from these Emerging Markets increase year on year and payment is secure as funding is from International Financing Institutions such as the World Bank and European Commission.

ASTEC now has an enviable database of local companies and organisations througout the target markets and has strong relationships with companies from the developed markets (e.g. EC Member States, North America and Japan) who engage in these target regions and in related activities. ASTEC key contacts include Ministries, private sector companies , Multinationals and key decision makers.

We have already teamed up on projects with US, EC and Irish companies from the IT, Environment, Energy, Rural Development, Finance, Health, Education, Security, Telecoms and Transport sectors.

We work closely with the key local companies in-country and within their respective regions, often in consortia we have been instrumental in establishing.

ASTEC also has a very key interaction with the major International Financing Institutions (IFIs) such as the EC and World Bank as we are responsible for developing country and sector strategy, as well as drafting many of the official tenders that these organisation issue on their various web-sites. This early stage involvement gives us an insight and ‘prior indication’ of future possibilities.
