Border Security

ASTEC has completed a number of Border Police and Customs assignments mainly in Central and Eastern Europe as well as other global regions. This work has involved a wide range of areas and issue related to the subject including the development of policing strategy relating to current EC initiatives such as Schengen, security analysis, tender specification of communications equipment and biometrics.

Some of the tasks have successfully included:

• Analysis of current strategies for modernisation
• Design of the overall architecture
• Improving surveillance capability
• Developing recommended measures to meet current and future security requirements in relation to the integration to the Schengen Information System (SIS II).
